My Beloved, What Are You ??

In the churning frenzied waters of living
With tidal waves gone insane
On the flimsy paperboat,called life,
Your strong brown arms spell safety & succour...
For you are the protector, saviour, father figure.
When coal black eyes, red black live coals
Blaze with a passion, bent on possession
In unconditional surrender
with open arms
I await total subjugation
Raising no defence against the welcome assault
For then, you are the lover
Drowning me in love...
Leading the way
to agonizing ecstasies and silent raptures.
When you sleep, with your head upon my breast
With a beautific smile on your lips
A melting, aching tenderness suffuses me
I circle your unconscious innocence in my arms
As fiercely protective as a tigress with cubs
For then, you are my child.
When with awe, reverence and utter devotion
In worship, you clasp my unworthy feet
And emotion, overpowered, you cover them
With tears and kisses
To exalt me to the pedestal of a Goddess
In my eyes, it's God that you become.
Father, Son, Lover or God
My Beloved, what are you?
To encompass in totality, my femininity
You are the complete, the perfect male
Manhood, in it's entirety
The desired mate
My soul-mate
Who made my sojourn on this Earth
Worthwhile...
WOMAN

I haven't understood till now
What a woman is for, after all
Is it only to bear pain
And smile bravely through the tears
Or is it to bear children
For the continuation of human race?
Or to juggle between a carrer & be a homemaker
& yet keep up with the pace?
Isn't she an individual
Who has an identity of her own
Or should she always be
someone's wife,mother,sister or daughter?
It is said,"Fraility, thy name is woman."
But, I wonder
If it really holds true
For, after all, it is she
Who dies every time
She brings forth a new life...
Nature too bestowed the woman
To bear extreme pain & yet stand tall
For it knew, the man will never
be able to pull it through.
It's the woman who soothes gently
All the worries of her mate
And becomes his pillar of strength
In times of despair.
So shouldn't the quotation say-
"An epitome of
Love, strength & courage
Thy name is - WOMAN"

THE ROCK AND THE SEA

I'm the eternal rock by the shore
Unchangeable, immovable, stable to the core
You are the sea, with it's many moods
That loves, hates, sulks & broods.
Sometimes, your frolicsome waves so tease
That with their infectious love, they cannot but please
Sometimes in a frenzy, the roller crash
And any resistance I put up, to pieces dash.
At times, for no reason at all
Your favours, you withdraw
The tide ebbs and I stand
naked,vulnerable & raw.
The burning sand brutally taunt
As I burn with desire, need & want
And when I think
With you I've lost all ground
You embrace,engulf, literally astound
In a wave of passion you submerge
Till at last, sputtering, I emerge
And then, for the flimsiest of all reasons
Our love, with the fury of tempest
You season
Foaming at mouth, you come
Crowding upon me
And shake my foundations
however strong they may be.
Just when I think, I can bear no more
You are a sheet of mirror
from shore to shore
Though only for a shortwhile
Restful and calm
To my frayed nerves
such an incredible balm
Why Oh Why do I tolerate you?
In the name of heaven
If only I knew...
Your fluidity and my stability
Are a perfect foil for each other
And I know each cannot
Exist without the other.
